Sleep Through More of the Night with the PD Cycler Alarm Reducer

Nighttime alarms are one of the hardest parts of automated peritoneal dialysis. Sometimes the cause isn’t a serious complication. It’s just tubing that has shifted, kinked, or been pulled out of position while you move in your sleep.

The Beep-Away Spring supports and stabilizes the tubing around your nighttime setup. After years on PD, I created it as a small, simple tool for a problem that can have a big effect on sleep.

Why tubing causes so many nighttime alarms

You roll over, change position, or shift an arm, and the line pulls, bends, or folds. Even a slight kink can trigger a drain or flow alarm. Then you’re awake, checking the line, and trying to fall back asleep, sometimes more than once a night. Over weeks and months, that lost rest adds up.

How the Beep-Away Spring helps

The spring gives the tubing gentle support along its length, so it’s less likely to fold or get tugged out of position when you move. [Add one sentence on how it attaches or is placed, e.g., “Simply slide the tubing through...”]

Product benefits

  • Helps reduce tubing kinks. Added support keeps the line in a more open, stable shape.
  • May minimize movement-related cycler alarms. Fewer shifts and pulls on the tubing means fewer reasons for the cycler to alert.
  • Compact design. Small enough to keep with your supplies and travel with your cycler.
  • Approximately 12 inches long. A practical length for the section of tubing that tends to shift most.
  • Suitable for home PD setups. Made with real home dialysis routines in mind.
  • Useful for adults and children. Whether you’re managing PD yourself or helping a child, it’s one more way to make nights easier.

Who it’s for

  • People on automated PD who are woken by movement-related alarms
  • Active sleepers who toss, turn, or change positions overnight
  • Parents and caregivers setting up a child’s nighttime therapy
  • Anyone who wants a simple, low-tech way to keep tubing where it belongs

From the creator

I’ve lived with the nighttime routine of PD, and I know how much a quiet, uninterrupted night can matter. I didn’t set out to build a product. I wanted fewer wake-ups for myself, and I’m sharing what I made in case it helps you too.

Frequently asked questions

Will this stop all my alarms?
No. It’s designed to help with tubing-related, movement-triggered alarms only. It isn’t an alarm override.

Does it work with my cycler?
[Add compatibility details, e.g., “It’s designed to support standard PD tubing and can be used with most home cyclers.”]

Is it safe for children?
It’s useful for children’s setups. [Add any age or supervision guidance you want to include.] Always follow your dialysis team’s instructions for your child’s care.

How do I clean it?
Just use warm soapy water and let dry on paper towel.

Important safety note

This product is not an alarm override. If alarms continue, follow your cycler’s instructions and contact your dialysis team. Persistent or unexplained alarms should always be checked, never ignored.
